Vincita is coming to Manila!

Our friends from Vincita, makers of quality bike bags, will be coming to Manila this March 1 to 4. They will participate in the 4th Thailand Trade Exhibition happening at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City (Halls 3 & 4).

If you remember, I bought my transport bag for my Brompton from Vincita mid-last year. I found the B-132 bag to be sturdy and durable. The best thing about it was the price--it's very affordable compared to similar products sold in the US.

Vincita is bringing to the Philippines their awesome bike bag collection, but only for a limited time, so do pay their booth a visit. In fact, I'm going there on the first day! Remember that's March 1 to 4 (10am to 7pm) at the SMX Convention Center!

Admission is free, people!

Video: NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide

The National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) came out with an Urban Bikeway Design Guide which serves as a guidebook for all local government units interested in putting up bikeway infrastructure in their areas. Ang galing! I hope the MMDA can download this and study it for implementation here in Metro Manila. We need safe bikeways now!

I wish we can invite Martha and the rest of The Green Lane Project people to come here and help us out map our bike lane infrastructure across Metro Manila.

Video: Bike Trailer for Brompton

From our friends at Radical Design in the Netherlands--a bicycle trailer for the Brompton.

The alloy frame measures 36' x 18' and includes a tow bar, 1 hitch, 2 wheels, and the bag. The Cyclone III retails for 449 Euros (or PhP 25,000!). I hope I can find a welder here in Manila who can fabricate something like this. It'd be useful in transporting all kinds of stuff (i.e. groceries, small furniture, etc.)

Finally, all EZ Wheels on my bike's rear rack

I recently changed my rear rack's stock rollers with EZ Wheels to complete my Brompton M6R. The stock rollers are really useless. With it, when the bike is folded, the rack almost touches the floor! So much so that on some occassions the rack the the fender get scratched. I don't know why Brompton still fit these tiny rollers on its racks.
See the difference if all 4 wheels are EZ wheels? At least there's half an inch space between the floor and the rack.
And this is what my complete M6R looks like with child seat.
