The road to the Brompton World Championship 2014 (July 26, Goodwood Motor Circuit) starts now. National championships will be held at Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and USA.
I've owned a Brompton for years now, but have not been able to attend the BWC in the UK due to work and studies, plus it's too far from the Philippines. I wish the BWC will be taken around the world just like the Olympics. Given that the bike has already attained global status, other places can host the BWC. Like, for example, next year's BWC could be in Europe, the following year it could be in Asia. Isn't it eventually going to get boring if the BWC is held in the same country every year?
"Nice try", as they say, but BWC in the UK is hardly likely to ever be boring (& we can count on Brompton to keep up the good work). Do try to make the pilgrimage one day; you won't regret it. In the meantime how about getting a Philippines race on the calendar?
ReplyDeleteWe'd want to, but I think our local club still has to increase our membership to merit a national championship race. By the way, I will be in New Zealand this year and could probably hop on a JetStar flight to Australia. When and where will the Australian Championship be this year?
